The list of activities you can do with Nsele Safari’s is endless! All mentioned activities can be pre-booked or booked on site. We will gladly help you out in determining the best activities to suit your needs.

Game Drives

Join us on one of many game drives and experience a true safari! Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to let us take you on a big-5 game drive in one of Africa’s most beautiful reserves. Good chance you will see all of the big 5 (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino).

Late at night, after dinner, you can experience Africa’s night life in our open vehicle. Experience the bush by night and look for nocturnal animals, enjoy the sounds at night and mesmerize at the stars of the African Sky.

Micro-Light Flying

10 minutes to 1 hour flight in a micro light. Your choice if you want to fly over Big 5 area (a true air-safari) or over the Blyde River Canyon. Whatever your choice: the experience is unique!

Hot-Air Balloon Flight

Experience the magic of lighter-than-air near the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment. The one-hour hot-air balloon flight takes you over the scenic Lowveld section of the Blyde River, 15 kilometres west of Hoedspruit. Overlooking a mixture of farmland, private nature reserves and wildlife estates.

Elephant Interaction

Meet the gentle giants. This is an opportunity to watch elephants in their natural habitat during the day or at their stables early morning / late afternoon and into the evening. It includes an introduction to the herd and their grooms, photographic opportunity in close proximity with the elephants. You are getting close to the elephant herd to observe them in the wild.

Blyde River Boat Cruise

Enjoy the splendor of the third largest Canyon in the world. Unquestionably being the largest ‘green canyon’ due to its lush subtropical foliage. An interpretation tour of 1 hour will take you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondavels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.

Wildlife Centers

In our close vicinity there are several wildlife, rehabilitation & educational centres, like:

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre – HESC focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animal species. Cheetah Conservation is one of its core disciplines. Daily tours.

Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre – Take the AM or PM tour to let yourself be educated about wildlife and the work of the centre, while getting face-to-face with lions, leopards, cheetah, wild dog, vultures and many more. Afterwards have a stroll through the museum and shop.

Into rural Africa

One of our most popular half day trips brings you to the local town of Acornhoek. We will visit a school and local clinic where you get to meet and talk to the local people. At the end of this tour and after a coffee and tea break at one of the local dams and drive through the residential areas and town centre, you will have truly experienced everyday life in South Africa.

Panorama Tour

Let us take you on an impressive day tour through the foothills of the Drakensberg and Blyde River Canyon; the third largest canyon on earth. You will see the incredible Three Rondavels mountains and stare down in Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Climb the steps to the top of God’s Window, look at the Berlin Waterfall or stand in wonder of Lisbon Waterfall. We will visit some old towns like Graskop and/or Pilgrims Rest where you can enjoy lunch and some shopping.

Kruger National Park

We take you on a full day tour in our Open Safari Vehicle to one of the world most renowned nature reserves. with us – enjoy the sight of various animals in one of the oldest protected game areas in South Africa.

Guided Bush Walks

Take a walk on the wild side with our experienced guide. We will take you on a 2 hour walk on our reserve to experience the wildlife, birdlife and nature up close and personal. Feeling more adventurous? Join us on a Ranger Day and spend a few hours in the bus with our guide, while learning all the ins and outs of life in the bush (including a true bush lunch).

For the true dare devils there is also an opportunity to have our ranger guide you through the basics of shooting. You will experience the thrill of shooting (at a stationary target).

Coronavirus PolicyAmended Coronavirus (COVID-19) cancellation policy - 1 March 2020 until 31 December 2020

Nsele Safari’s & Lodge is fully aware of prospect and current travellers concerns regarding travelling during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we would like travellers to know about the below precautions and policy amendments to set your mind at ease while enjoying your amazing trip to Africa.

VERY IMPORTANT:  Nsele Safaris & Lodge maintains that it is very important for travellers to make sure that they take out comprehensive travel insurance to protect them against any incidents that may affect them negatively during the outbreak:

-       for example booking cancellations due to this pandemic
-       Make sure that you read through and understand your benefit schedule before making your final decision on any Travel Insurance.

We have amended our cancellation policy to ensure guests are not unduly penalised on their bookings.
The following terms & condition amendments apply to current, new & provisional bookings made between
1 March 2020 and 31 December 2020:

Booking may be amended by moving them up by 12 months, taking availability into consideration, if a guest is wary about traveling during the outbreak.

Our quoted rates given for 2020 will apply on these bookings.

These amendments will only apply to travel dates before 31 December 2020.

Only one amendment per booking is allowed and maybe made up to 31 days prior to arrival.

Booking cancellations which are done 30 days prior to arrival will result in our standard cancellation policy as per our current terms & conditions (-see underneath).

It is advisable that travellers claim a refund from their travel insurance should there be an advisory travel notice given by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Management reserves the right to make changes to the terms & conditions at any time, and will make sure to make it visible to all guests and potential travellers.

We at Nsele Safaris & Lodge understand that strict hygiene codes have been issued, and our personnel have been briefed in this regard. Hand-wash and sanitizer is available all through the Lodge at bathrooms and outside taps as well as our transport vehicles. It is advisable to use these often, and wash your hands regularly. So, if we don’t greet you by hand on arrival and eparture, you know why, and know that you are still just as welcome with us.

Nsele Safaris Cancellation and Booking policy for Reservations with Nsele Safaris & Lodge


Cancellation policy:
31 to 91+ days - the client will be refunded the full amount deposited
21-30 days 5% of deposited amount is refunded
0-20 days 0% of deposited amount is refunded

Certain activities require a full payment upon booking, and 0% refund on cancellation is offered as some of these activities are out-sourced and booked in advance. Please ask which part of your package falls under this policy

To confirm a booking a deposit needed for accommodation, tours/excursions, 100% deposit needed 31 days before arrival.

Agents/Operators and other suppliers to Nsele Safari’s & Lodge must be aware that while the above Amended Coronavirus (COVID-19) cancellation policy underneath  1 March 2020 until 31 December 2020 is valid that their agreed cancellation policy to us as per their terms and conditions,  is also cancelled and therefore we can not be penalized. (if not in agreement our standard cancellation and booking policy will stay active.)
